Lanier Sailing Academy on Lake Murray offers sailing courses and a sailing club in a fun environment.
Basic keelboat classes are taught for American Sailing Association certification. Take a sunset sail with your
special someone or cruise with friends or business associates on beautiful Lake Murray, South Carolina.
Located in the heart of South Carolina, Lake Murray is just minutes from downtown Columbia. It boasts 520 miles
of shoreline and covers approximately 78 square miles. Lanier Sailing Academy on Lake Murray makes it's home at
Southshore Marina on Hwy. 378, west of Lexington.
Our basic keelboat classes include 20 hours of on the water instruction. Students will develop basic skills aboard our popular Capri 22's. There will be no more than 3 students per boat.
The Happy Sails Club provides an economic way for basic keelboat graduates to develop their newly acquired
skills. Members can sail Lake Murray, as often as they like, on any of our 22-25 foot boats. Other
club events include moonlight sails, monthly clinics, and flotilla socials.

We also offer sunset sails or other skippered cruises for special events. Rentals are available for qualified sailors.
