Practical Sailing for Basic Keelboat Certification (BKB-101)
A Fun-filled class... Our most popular learn-to-sail course.
Our certified instructors will take you from landlubber to experienced sailor capable of
handling a sailboat all by yourself. It is a hands-on class, spending 80 percent of your
time on the water. You steer the boat and you trim the sails.
Our training sessions are lively, interactive, and designed to help you retain the theory so it will
always be there to enhance your sailing enjoyment on the water. We have classes structured for
those who have never sailed, as well as, those who are looking to strengthen basic skills or get
certified. Small class sizes assure individualized attention.

In addition to our top flight instruction, we also give you:
- A signed certificate of course completion to be mounted for all to see; complete with the Lanier Sailing Academy official seal.
- American Sailing Association and U.S. Sailing certification for Basic Keelboat 101.
- An official log book to document your sailing experiences to charter companies and sailboat rental docks.
- Eligibility to join our Sailing Clubs which provides you with unlimited usage of sailboat fleet (up to 27 feet), additional rental discounts and year round social activities with your fellow sailors.
- "Sailing Fundamentals", the official American Sailing Association sailing manual or the Basic Keelboat course manual for U.S. Sailing.
- A loaned copy of the "Sailing Fundamentals" video to aid your learning, as you prepare for class.
Instruction is aboard a 22' day sailer.
