Lanier Sailing Academy has been teaching in the Brithis Virgin Islands for over 15 years.  As a BVI sailing school, we're legendary for the fun we have along the way.  We teach aboard Beneteau sailboats in week long live aboard trips.  Cruise and learn with us an find out first hand why cruising enthusiasts love these waters.  We teach to ASA standards as a affiliate of the American Sailing Association.


"Champagne Lady" our Beneteau 46 combines comfort with spirited performance.  A smooth sailing vessel with a spacious cockpit and comfortable cabins allows you and your cruising friends to relax and enjoy the ultimate learing vacation!


A Sample Class Itinerary...


Day One

Arrive in Fat Hogs Bay on Tortola by 5:00 p.m. in time to stow your gear and meet fellow sialors.  We'll do a safety walk through, orientation and chart review.  Then enjoy a cocktail hour as captains and crew get acquainted.  Dinner on your won at a local restaurant.  You will spend the night aboard.  The next morning we are ready to set sail for our sailing week of adventure!


Day Two

Today you will get to acclimate yourself to like at sea, cover basic sailing terms, parts and maneuvers.  Lunch and snorkeling at the "Dogs" then into our overnight anchorage at Marina Cay.


Day Three

This is our heavy weather and reefing day.  We will practice "heave-to", reefing and building on our skills from the previous day.  We sail for Virgin Gorda Sound.  Overnight in North Sound.


Day Four

Learn the rudiments of Coastal Navigation as we sail early fo the beautiful reef island of Anegada.  Today will test your navigation skills.  Here you will experience this undevelped reef island that is famous for shell fish and monster lobsters.  Explore miles of secluded beach for a day and evening on your own.


Day Five

As crew you will put your newly acquired skills to work to navigate and sail the yacht back to the gorgeous island of Virgin Gorda for an afternoon of snorkeling at the famous "Baths".  Overnight at Spanish Town or Cooper Island.


Day Six

Bring all your skills together today for a fun day of sailing!  We will also complete our day with man-overboard maneuvers as well as other safety maneuvers at sea.  Overnight at Cooper Island or Peter Island.


Day Seven

An early morning sail back to home port will be the finale to the trip.  Arriving at Fat Hogs Bay by 10:00 a.m. gives you time for some duty free shopping before arriving home happy, tanned and ready for your next sailing adventure.
